What's Happening in the World of Movie Magic

So, the big battle between all those TV and movie streaming services? Yeah, it's kinda over now.

But even when things start picking up again for the folks who make our favorite shows and movies look cool (you know, the special effects wizards), there won't be as many gigs as there were back in 2022. That means there are going to be fewer jobs for people who create those awesome visual effects, at least for a little while.

It's like when the music stops in musical chairs, and there aren't enough chairs for everyone. Everyone, no matter if they're just starting or have been in the game for years, is going to be scrambling for a spot. And, not everyone can get a seat.

Now, think about your friends and people you know who can help you out. Are they solid enough to hook you up with a job when one pops up? It's a good idea to check in with them more often, not just when you need something. And I'm not just talking about clicking "connect" on LinkedIn with people you've never actually talked to or worked with.

During this slow time, did you learn anything new or get better at something? Because you can bet others did. Showing off your own projects that look amazing is one way to stand out and show how much you've grown, anytime really.

Here's the deal: no one is guaranteed a job in this world, especially in the movie magic biz. You've got to really push and show what you can do. Otherwise, when it's time to play musical chairs again, you might be the one left standing without a seat.
